Hardware:

  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070
  • Driver: 590.48.01
  • CPU: Intel i5-10400F
  • RAM: 16 GB DDR4
  • Resolution: 2560×1080 (21:9 ultrawide)
  • OS: Garuda Linux KDE (Arch-based)
  • Kernel: 6.18.5-zen

Proton versions tested:

  • Proton 9.0-4
  • Proton Experimental
  • Proton-GE 10-32
  • Proton-GE 9.x
  • Wine-GE 9.x (via Heroic)

Summary of the issue:
The game launches and runs, but there are constant graphical artifacts:

  • flickering lines on edges
  • disappearing/reappearing geometry
  • shimmering borders
  • unstable image reconstruction

These artifacts appear:

  • with DLSS ON or OFF
  • with TAA
  • with FSR2
  • with Frame Generation OFF
  • with Vulkan forced (PROTON_NO_D3D12=1)
  • with NVAPI disabled (PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1)

What was tested:

  • clean compatdata prefix
  • Vulkan forced
  • DX12 disabled
  • NVAPI disabled
  • DXVK_ASYNC=1
  • multiple Proton versions
  • Wine-GE via Heroic
  • Steam Runtime enabled
  • different resolutions
  • internal resolution scaling

Results:
Nothing removes the artifacts.
The issue seems specific to:

  • NVIDIA RTX 4000/5000 series
  • DX12 rendering path
  • ultrawide resolutions (2560×1080)

Expected behavior:
Stable image without flickering or disappearing geometry.

Actual behavior:
Constant artifacts regardless of settings or Proton version.

Notes:
This looks like a DX12 + NVIDIA + ultrawide issue in the RE Engine.
Other players with RTX 4000/5000 report similar behavior.
