Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When I install & start Dead by Daylight on my PC, it starts up and I can create a custom game. After starting the custom game, DBD alerts me:

You have been kicked from the Server because of a failure to validate your account
through Easy Anti-Cheat (error code 4)

Additional Info: Anti-cheat client protection not active (NullClient)

I have tried uninstalling the game, removing the prefix, verifying the game files, switching to a different Proton-version. Everything ended up in the same error.
I can play for a few seconds, until the DBD server kicks me.

I do own a Steam Deck and on the Steam Deck, DBD works flawlessly without tinkering. (Last Checked: Today in the morning)

I have generated a proton-log, if this is going to help: steam-381210.log

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Install DBD
  2. Start a custom game
  3. observe

Hello @LinuxSquare, we're tracking issues with games run with Proton in the Proton issue tracker. Also, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/519#issuecomment-2646342340.
