When I click in some games to install them (mainly Indie games), the game download in less than a second, but then it's imposible to run the game. I always get this error message.
Steam_012

I experienced this error with Limbo, Braid and Splice.

Sounds like a duplicate of #28 my guess is that steam did not actually download the files.

This is a known problem. For some reason there are games showing up in the Linux-games tab that are not supported yet. Limbo is one of them. For a full list of supported games check here--->> https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8495-OKZC-0159

I have also had this problem. I think it's heavily associated with games in the Humble Indie Bundle, but this is also almost all of the games for Linux I have. Just to dump my test results (I wrote these up for the Double Fine forums):

I have a ton of available Linux titles on Steam through the Humble Bundle, so I decided to test downloading several titles.

I just tested some random ones, but of the ones I tested:

These began downloading/installing properly: Team Fortress 2 (not Humble Bundle), Steel Storm: Burning Retribution, World of Goo, Aquaria, Uplink

However these games immediately “finished downloading”: Psychonauts, LIMBO, Multiwinia, Splice, Waking Mars

I wasn’t able to discern any super strong correlation, but I did notice that World of Goo and Aquaria both worked and they were both in the first Humble Indie Bundle, whereas most of the ones that didn’t work were in newer bundles. This may be coincidental, and I don’t imagine it would make much of a difference since Steam for Linux is so young anyway.

Anyway when the bad downloads try to launch, this shows up: “Failed to start game (invalid app config).”

Many games are showing up but not working because they are marked as supporting linux but not being complete in the release version. For some games this is because the linux version is in a private beta on steam (FTL was like this for a while but now works in the default release). This page http://redd.it/15502w has a table of what works and what doesn't, and should be correct as of the time of this reply.

Splice is now downloading.
