Steam (at lest on Linux) takes a lot of CPU cycles when idling. This is by design (rendering loop), but if I leave my gaming rig in Big Picture Mode for some time, it does not enter any power saving mode and it still burns a lot of cycles (and electricity).
I would like to have a simple (blank) screensaver that activates after X minutes so Steam can either suspend the rendering loop, or at least lower fame rate to reasonable value to save our planet Earth.
I would also love to disable the "live" background so FPS could drop when browsing my library. I rather sacrifice the UI to save CPU and have more responsive UI on low-power rigs (streaming boxes).

Thanks for Linux support!
