Symptoms

In World of Warcraft (any version), when I hold down mouse 1 or mouse 2 to grab the camera and rotate it around my character, the camera does not engage immediately. I can still move the cursor a few millimeters, and I can see it moving. But when I make a larger movement, there is a noticeable frame jump.

It feels as if the game doesn’t realize that I have grabbed the camera, and when it finally does, I have already moved the mouse far enough that the camera suddenly snaps to follow that movement. On a 2K monitor this is almost unnoticeable, but on my 5K monitor it becomes very noticeable.

I have tried different DEs and WMs, but all of this was under Wayland. I also tested different game versions and launch methods, but nothing helped.

Hello @Vexiral, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8760#issuecomment-3643414781.
